Vermont's minimum wage is set at $7.25 per hour based on a 40 hour workweek. This rate is only applicable to employers of two (2) or more employees. The State minimum wage rate if surpassed by the Federal minimum wage rate will be replaced by the Federal minimum wage rate. The State overtime provision has limited application since it excludes retail and services, seasonal amusement and recreation, hotels, motels, restaurants, and transportation employees to whom the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provision does not apply.
